welcome

".. I always knew how precious each work from each class is .. I dreamed of having at least some of them exhibited so that they can be enjoyed by many ...please get involved by writing comments if you can .. thank you - you know it is a pleasure to run the classes, because I can meet such wonderful students and their wonderful parents & grandparents & carers and share what I love ... Halloween Special - Skulls

Skulls are such a traditional subject to draw - there is a real richness if visual information. There is also a richness of metaphors of understanding and symbolism. No wonder the image of the skull is so popular.

It's good to explore it's visual qualities from the scratch and judging from these results the patience of slow careful study pays off.

this is a rather 'classic' exercise - but - how effective it is !!!
all have done so well - and I believe that skills learned on this task will be transferable to all kinds of other areas

timed up drawings

this Thursday it was a Marathon like effort in drawing - so well done everyone !
here are some selected drawings collaged in order of the progress of the exercise : we started with 2 minutes  (three still-life drawings each) next 5 minutes (three still life drawings each) and then we had only 12 more minutes left for one more detailed drawing. I like to show to students the differences and the progress brought about by the time limit - also it trains the ability to capture the most of the visual information in very quick gestural mark-making - and I think each one of the children got that idea really well this time - which is pleasing
